The Social Activist Raana Raja – At a glance

One of the ambitions of social activist Mr. Raanaa Raja is that there should be no beggars, destitute and hopeless in the society. He was born on 13.12.1979 in Trichy, a central part of the state of Tamil Nadu, India.

Although illiterate parents earned good income in home appliances, soda factory business. Thus, they educated all their 10 children (5 boys, 5 girls) out of which one son and two daughters have settled abroad. Raja completed his schooling in RC hr.Sec and holds BA in Sociology from Trichy Bharathidasan University.

In the name of Raanaa, which stands for his father's initials Raghavan, he has been running an advertising and events company for the past 25 years.

Raanaa Raja has a keen interest in music and conducts an orchestra named “Music 7 Orchestra” to generate income for the visually impaired. Being the Charter President of Junior Chamber International (JCI)" Trichy Kangaroo Chapter, Mr. Raanaa Raja strives to develop courageous youth leaders through leadership development exercises.

He has been responsible for developing 7 young leaders in Trichy. He has been a soft skills development trainer. Realizing the poor socio-economic status of the differently abled, Mr. .Rana Raja has developed Kangaroo Rehabilitation Homes for the upliftment of such unfortunate persons. Through the Kangaroo Rehabilitation Program he has created employment opportunities for hundreds of differently-abled persons.

Subsequently, Mr. Rana Raja established 3 homes one after the other in the name of Heed India Charity for the rehabilitation of the elderly, mentally retarded and crippled persons abandoned on the streets without family support.

The trust of the public has increased due to the excellent work of the management committee that can run this institution created by him.

The contribution of local donors, financial assistance of simple middle class people and occasional support of some industrial companies have been successful in running these homes without any payment from the beneficiaries.

We need to create a society without runaways, beggars and mentally ill people and increase the number of positive thinking citizens.
Hence, her ambition is to conduct awareness campaigns and training workshop
